The Beano and Dandy Collection Folds
The Beano and Dandy Collection, first launched in Newcastle last month, has folded after just 3 issues. The magazine focused on a different Beano and Dandy character each issue, coming with a model of them and pages from the classic comics.
Sadly though, it didn't kick off, and lack of intrest means that the comic has had to end.
The magazine was a good idea, with a history of comics running through each issue there was something pulling the readers back. Maybe a relaunched version without a model every issue would work better, plus it would be cheaper which would expland the magazines audience even more?
It looks like you can still order some issues from the website, so if you didn't order but would still like a copy why not do so? The first issue costs £1.99 and issues 2 and 3 are £7.99.

According to the publisher Hachette the Beano/Dandy partwork was only on a trial run in Newcastle.
My guess is it'll be relaunched nationally in the New Year. (I could be wrong of course.)
I hope your guess is correct, as it does look like a good magazine. Unfortunatly I didn't subscribe as I couldn't afford the postage, but if it does relaunch in the new year I wish them the best!
I'm still hoping someone'll pick up on my idea for one of these things - a "UK Comics" in general sort of affair.
Each issue focuses on a particular comic (or particular era of a comic in the case of the long-running ones), and includes a fascimile of the featured comic, as well as a magazine talking about said comic.
It could be done chronologically or in order of "Fame", starting with the likes of Beano, Dandy, Buster and 2000AD before getting to the more obscure stuff, like Fizog and Nipper.
That'd be a guaranteed subscription from me!
Good idea, maybe it would work in a random order though - with one issue about the Beano and the next about Nipper!
