With the death of summer specials a few years ago (The Dandy had the last one in 2006 or 2007), D.C. Thomson have tried a different approach, with summer ANNUALS! An annual for summer that's been on sale since February and will be replace by the Christmas annuals in.... August?!?!
The Broons and Oor Wullie is aimed at slightly older readers (for children there is the Beano 3D annual), featuring reprints from the annuals and newspapers. The cover is from the 1944 jigsaw, signed by Dudley Watkins as "WATTY". It's actually very good, apart from the fact that one Oor Wullie story is printed twice!
On the cover you get free playing cards, and inside you get free stickers. Also, something I quite liked, scans of the puzzles from the Sunday Post Fun Section, from the issue dated September 11th 1938.
